Canada is located right at the North Pole. Unfortunately, Santa is no where to be found. However, there is something very spectacular that occurs at night between the months of March to April and September to October.
The Aurora Borealis, also referred to as the Northern Lights, are caused by the collision of charged particles from the Earth's magnetic field. At the South Pole, there is a similar phenomenon called the Aurora Australis.
They are visible at the poles due to the longer nights and the proximity of the magnetic poles.
Did you know that other planets, such as Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn also have auroras?
