- A watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the weather event (thunderstorm, tornado, hurricane). Use caution - it is usually best to be in a building.
- A warning is issued when the event is HERE!!! It means to take shelter immediately. It is NOT advisable that you stand by windows as high winds and hail may break them. For a tornado, attempt to locate a closet, a bathroom, a basement, or cellar in which to hide.
